Oh, what a day.
Woke up early this morning to finish up a few things for class, then magical class time. For UH 210 we headed to Holywell Cemetery which is a cemetery/nature reserve and was really cool. Check facebook for pictures. Afterwards we headed back to The Mission for lunch. We just couldn't resist. It was too delicious. I can't wait to get home and have some Los Calientes. Like, I miss it so.
Let's see, after lunch we split up, and I headed off to the Botanic Garden (probably my favorite place in Oxford) to read Heart of Darkness all afternoon. It was such a beautiful day, and I sat on Will and Lyra's bench (from the Dark Materials Trilogy) surrounded by flowers and such. So beautiful. If I was going to be forced to read such a god awful book at least I got to read it in such a beautiful and peaceful place.
I eventually got a little chilly in the gardens, and was sick of reading for hours, so I headed back to Worcester. The weather was so pretty still though, so I walked around the grounds for a while and read out by the lake. If you look at my facebook pictures, all the pictures of ducks and the lake with the big trees hanging out over it...yeah, that's Worcester college grounds. I know, it's so beautiful. Amazing really.
I got close to finishing, then headed to Evensong at Christ Church for UH 210. It wasn't my favorite Evensong service - I prefered Christ Church Cathedral in Dublin...but it was nice nonetheless. After Evensong we ate at...Noodle Nation. I know, I know, once we pick a place we like though it's hard to change it up again. Oh Noodle Nation.
We finally headed back for showers and finishing up homework...then time to go out! Yay!!
First we started out at the college pub as usual, then everyone gathered to go out. We started out at Lava, but it was kind of boring, so headed to the karaoke bar we went to last weekend, then back to Lava later in the night. Tons and tons of fun. Except for one thing...the title of the post. Well, I wore heels out, not knowing we were going to be prancing all over town...so by the end of the night I was in a bit of pain. I made it back to the college with my shoes on, but as soon as we got in the main door I took them off, I just couldn't stand it anymore and the cold ground felt much better. Until I was about 8 feet from my door. And stepped on a slug. Gross. So, now I have a fun new nickname....hahaha.
Minus the slug though, it was a really awesome night, and an awesome day all together. Time goes by so quickly here!
